November is an ideal time of year to visit Perth – not too hot and not too cool.
A wide variety of activities occur at that time of year.
Most beaches, art galleries, theatres, restaurants, museums, historical sites and wine regions are within easy travelling distance.

Take a Leisurely Stroll Around Perth or Fremantle
Go shopping, enjoy a coffee by the Swan River or on Fremantle’s iconic cappuccino strip, or just explore the cities.
Perth was occupied by British settlers in 1829 and originally named Swan River Colony.
Many of the older buildings from earlier times still exist and have been heritage listed.
Catch a Ferry to South Perth
South Perth is a short ferry ride from Elizabeth Quay.
Take some time out for coffee, lunch or dinner at one of the many cafes and restaurants there.
Or visit the Perth Zoo.
Art Gallery of WA
The Art Gallery of WA is located north of Perth Railway Station.
Please note that you might need to book ahead for some of the Gallery’s attractions.
Perth Mint
Perth Mint is Australia’s oldest operating mint.
Watch a traditional gold pour in the Mint’s original 1899 melting house.
See the world’s largest gold coin, weighing an impressive one tonne of pure gold.
Select a memento from the many items on sale in the Mint’s shop.
Kings Park & Botanic Gardens
Kings Park & Botanic Gardens displays over 3000 species of WA’s flora.
Two thirds of the park are protected bushland, providing a haven for native wildlife.
Take in sweeping views of the Swan and Canning Rivers, the city skyline & the Darling Ranges.
Free guided walks are led by Kings Park Volunteer Guides.
Guided walks depart daily from the law outside Aspects of Kings Park.
Just 1.5 km from the Perth CBD, you can catch the Blue CAT from Perth Station or Elizabeth Quay Bus Station.
River Cruises
Captain Cook Cruises offers a range of cruise options from Perth to the port city of Fremantle, or upstream towards the Swan Valley wine region.
Wild West Charters offers guided river tours, departing from Elizabeth Quay.
Their Swan River Eco-Adventure Tours are fast, smooth and dry guided tours, in smaller personalised groups, suitable for all ages and abilities.
Little Ferry Company will take you on a guided tour in their solar electric ferry. Along the foreshore from Elizabeth Quay to East Perth, then return.
Swan River Valley Wine & Food Tours
The Swan Valley is Western Australia’s oldest wine region.
Take a tour to sample the best of WA’s food and wine.
Half day and full day tours by boat, coach or private vehicle are available.
Some tours offer a mix of travel modes: such as coach up and river boat back.
Or you can take a train to Guildford then join your pre-booked tour from there.
